At Satellytes, sustainability is at the core of everything we do. Our goal is to reduce our CO₂ footprint and contribute positively to the environment and society – even though we can currently only estimate our emissions roughly. Through targeted measures in the office and beyond, we are continually working to reduce our energy consumption and promote sustainable practices.

Net Zero refers to balancing greenhouse gas emissions through reduction and offsetting. At Satellytes, we focus solely on concrete, internal actions that lead to positive and measurable results, avoiding unnecessary complexities.

• Employee Bikes:

  We provide bikes for our employees to use, allowing them to commute emission-free.

• Thoughtful Travel Policies:

  For business trips, we prioritize taking trains over planes whenever possible and aim to avoid unnecessary travel altogether.

• Remote Work:

  Extensive remote work significantly reduces our office's energy consumption.

• Efficient Energy Use:

  • Our office consumes approximately 2,000 kWh of electricity – significantly less than comparable offices (4,000–10,000 kWh).

  • We rely on 100% renewable energy provided by our energy supplier, SWM.

• Automated Lighting:

  Our lighting system is digitally managed and switches off automatically when not needed.

• Energy-Saving Lighting:

  All office lights are energy-efficient models.

• Paperless Office:

  We operate entirely paper-free, managing all documentation digitally. This not only reduces resource consumption but also enhances flexibility in our workflows.

• Seasonal Operation:

  Our heating is only used from October to April.

• Weekend Shutdown:

  The heating is completely turned off on weekends.

• Eliminating Single-Use Products:

  Our office completely avoids single-use items. For lunchtime, we use reusable containers, minimizing waste.

• Prolonged Device Lifespans:

  • Our laptops are used well beyond their traditional lifespans. After their corporate use, they are converted for private use or recycled responsibly.

  • We do not provide corporate mobile phones and encourage our employees to recycle or sustainably reuse their personal devices.

Although we cannot precisely measure our CO₂ emissions, we continuously estimate them. These rough calculations help us monitor the success of our initiatives and identify ongoing opportunities for improvement.

At Satellytes, simplicity and clarity guide our processes. We avoid unnecessary diversions and focus exclusively on tangible, straightforward measures that contribute directly to sustainable operations. This ensures our efforts remain focused on reducing our environmental impact.
